  • Paloma was born in London in 1982. She started her musical education at the age of six.
  • In 1992 she was accepted in the Barnes and Castelnau Youth Orchestra with whom she gave many performances around Britain.
  • In 1994 she won the Yamaha Rock and Pop Awards for composition, Phil Collins being a member of the judges.
  • In 1995 Paloma and her family moved to Spain. She studied violin with Armando Toledo and formed part of the chamber orchestra ‘Camerata Viguesa’ giving performances all over northern Spain and the Canary Islands both as a soloist and as part of the orchestra.
  • In 1997 she was a finalist at the International Covilla Violin competition in Portugal.
  • Paloma took her Grade 8 ABRSM and received Distinction.
  • She has been selected for masterclasses held by Igor Frolov, Rosa Fein, Joji Hattori, Ilya Gringolts and Mayumi Seiler.
  • In 2000 Paloma joined the Carlos Nunez Band with whom she has toured extensively, visiting many countries such as France, Portugal, Canary Islands, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland, Spain, Japan and Morocco. Whilst in the band she has performed alongside many distinguished artists including The Cheiftains, Sharon Shannon, Dan ar Braz, Liam O’Flyn, Noa, Kodo Drummers and Altan in diverse venues around the world such as Dublin National Concert Hall, Teatro di Modena and playing in Festivals such as ‘Le Nuit Celtique’ (80,000 people), Villes Chareaux (50,000 people) and many more. Paloma has played to a wide range of audiences including the King and Queen of Spain. She recently recorded a live album and DVD (Carlos Nunez Y Amigos) in front of 30,000 people which received the Spanish music award for the Best Folk Album 2005.
  • In 2002 she took up a full scholarship at Birmingham Conservatoire where she continued her studies with Professor Jaqueline Ross (Julliard School), and Nathaniel Vallois. She participated in many orchestral activities leading both the Symphony and Sinfonia Orchestras. She was also chosen to take part in the Philarmonia project.
  • As well as her classical commitments she also studied Folk Fiddle with Joe Broughton and was a member of the Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, taking part in many performances around the UK.
  • Whilst in Birmingham Paloma lead the Luna String Quartet with whom she participated in masterclasses held by the Allegri, Vogler and Maggini String Quartets as well as receiving masterclasses from Chris Rowland (Head of Chamber Music Manchester) and Mark Messanger (Royal College of Music). They were selected to take part in the London String Quartet Foundation and gave a number of performances representing the Conservatoire at the Chamber Music Week and as part of the Birmingham Chamber Music Society.
  • In 2005 Paloma gained a place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a scholarship where she completed a Masters Degree in Performance. She played in the Symphony and Sinfonia Orchestras, co-leading both. She performed in the Barbican Centre with the orchestras, (Tasmin Little playing as soloist) and also participated in the Carter Festival that was broadcast live on BBC Radio. Also Paloma’s String Trio has received coaching from members of the Tackas, Belclea and Heine Quartets.
  • Paloma is an enthusiastic teacher with many private students as well as working for the Merton Music Foundation. She has also run workshops for children in both the Globe Town project and the award winning Connect Ensemble.
  • As well as regular recordings with Carlos Nunez, Paloma has appeared on recordings by The Cheiftains, The Rolling Stones and Rodrigo Romani amongst others. She also played on the ‘Mar Adentro’ and ‘Gedo Senki’ film sound tracks.
  • Along side her work Paloma is currently studying with Lucia Ibragimova (Yehudi Menuhin School).
